Five Minute Friday- Vacation

I have had the privilege to experience two vacations this year already. One was the much anticipated five-year birthday trip with our granddaughter to Disney World. It is a gift we have enjoyed with our older two grandchildren, and hope to relish with the next two as well! The other vacation was to visit Mount Rushmore, which I had been to in the past, but my daughter and her kids had not.

We had a great time exploring the President’s heads, and the beautiful area that surrounds the monument. However, there was a place we visited that left me bewildered and thinking I was crazy. If you have ever been to the Cosmos Mystery Area, you will understand. If you have yet to visit one of these fascinating areas, then you must go. The off base feeling was something I have never encountered, and you can bet I came home to research what happened to me up there.

It is the perfect area, with the perfect slopes, slants, and possibilities of illusions. My mind could not take it and you would have thought I was in some sort of wormhole outside of the galaxy. I could not stand straight, I kept falling backwards, my body felt heavy, and I watched a ball roll UP a wall. They got me good, and for me, the physical reaction, including nausea, completely helped them achieve their mysterious goal.

As I consider that crazy place, I consider life. Life has a way of flipping us around, throwing us back, and confusing our brains. One-step forward and violently tossed a few steps back. We walk ahead in a controlled manner just to go flying into a brick wall. Life, people, this world are often mysterious and baffling. Rest assured the world’s illusion of power and control will never stand when against the reality and truth of God’s power, love, grace, and strength. In Him, there is perfect peace in his mysterious ways, and confidence in His mysterious presence.

I invite you to visit the website of Kate Motaung for full details and rules (well the one rule).

  1. Your vacations sound like so much fun! I don’t know about this Cosmos Mystery Area?? I’ve never heard of this but it does NOT sound like fun!! Great application, though! Hope the rest of your summer is just as special…..

I'm someone who has always had a deep passion for literature and writing. From a young age, I've been captivated by the power of words and the way they can transport us to different worlds, open our minds to new ideas, and connect us with people and experiences that are distant from our own. Whether it's immersing myself in a classic novel, jotting down my thoughts in a journal, or crafting my own creative stories, writing and literature have always been an essential part of my life. I'm excited to continue exploring this rich and rewarding field, and to share my thoughts and insights with others who share my love for all things literary.
