I’ve been watching the self-above-Jesus crowd for many years now. People who don’t want to surrender to the Lord, but expect God to compromise so they can chase their personal desires and ways.
This ‘pastor’ (see below) is spewing nonsense, labeling part of the faith family a ‘Christian Nationalism’ crowd, using the same fear-mongering words as leftists like “fascism”.
The rhetoric in politics and within our communities is thick. Believers have to turn away from rage bait and back to the Bible. If you are not a believer, this doesn’t apply to you.
I have no intention of EVER putting a political figure above GOD. Not Trump or anyone in the future.
Truth be told, I believe the responsibility of the presidency of the United States of America should come with dignity, integrity, honesty, decency, and unity. The roots and foundation of our government were respected for these attributes. When did that change? I’m not sure; I do not doubt that power, greed, and money are behind the shift that infiltrated our great government. In the last election, I know that policies often took precedence over principles. I get it. Some don’t.
In today’s world, I personally struggle to connect the president to our everyday fellow citizens. My greatest desire for my nation is mutual respect despite our unique differences – as people, in our thoughts, ideas, and community. I’d love to see decency and kindness make an overwhelming comeback! The one who should lead by example falls short.
I do believe the Word of God is my roadmap to living well. However, I also know what the Word says about this world and the darkness that inhabits it.
This pastor is part of that darkness.
He criticized the worship leaders at Charlie Kirk’s memorial for participating in the Celebration of Life. (You can visit his page to confirm) Now, he’s not wrong; some speakers pushed politics in the center of the memorial, and our President embarrassed me by yelling, “I hate my enemies.” Which the Word tells us NOT to do. We are to love our enemies and pray for them. Hate comes from the devil; God doesn’t want us shackled in that stronghold.
However, President Trump is not alone. I know many people who harbor hatred towards someone who has harmed them. Whether we are on a national stage or quietly sitting at home, we are wrong. Hate is a sin – something that hurts our hearts and can cause separation from God.
Trump survived an assassination attempt. I’d say he’s not forgiven that young man, yet. I assume he was relating to Erika Kirk in that moment. He was being honest about his struggles. He’s still a man.
Forgiveness is the ultimate reflection of God. He sent his Son to die so we might be forgiven—the sacrifice who saved the world.
Charlie Kirk was a political debater, though he often countered those with opposing religious beliefs. He was an activist who encouraged young people to believe in Jesus Christ, their Savior, and to hold onto hope for their future in the country where they reside. It is not surprising that politics came up at his memorial.
It is possible to be a Christian and love our country simultaneously. There is no label to that. People fear the revival of faith because it interferes with Satan’s plans to steal, kill, and destroy. Don Lemon of CNN produced an entire video detailing the harm of a revival to our nation. What????
And that is precisely why we are seeing this revival. The only ones who fear a rise in Jesus are those who fight for division, religious persecution, educational indoctrination, gender confusion, and hate for our differences (much different than someone hating for personal harm or injury).
The only one who has something to gain by keeping people from revival is SATAN.
I hope our president reflects on forgiveness and finds it necessary in his future. He shared the stage with a great example, Erika Kirk.
I won’t back down. I’d rather see love of neighbor return over stabbings on trains, police officers executed, or public speakers assassinated- To list a few examples of what hate does.
We can all work on our personal sins. We can forgive. We can treat each other with kindness and respect. We can offer compassion and care. We can have dialogue about our differences without resorting to violence. We cannot expect everyone to agree with everything we stand for. It will never be! We can’t force acceptance of choices others don’t align with, but we should expect decency towards our fellow humans.
I pray for people to stop this baiting that comes from every direction- left, right, top to bottom.
I pray for you- my neighbors, and I love you all.
♥️Lisa
