Poetry- The Vultures Prey

You came for me

And laughed right in

You the vulture

Me near dead..

My stench rose

Recognizable for miles

Stunck with failure

Of sin in trials..

Above me you hunted

Conniving with your wake

Waiting and preying

Which piece of me to take..

Anticipation mounted

Hunger fueled your flight

Watching me below

Never losing sight..

The silence unmistaken

Of what you came to do

The world took my light

Satan can’t have me too..

You’re built for destruction

Of a body cold and dead

My heart’s slowest beat

Refused to give up yet..

Though paralyzed I lay

Inside I woke

Jesus my healer

Fixed what evil broke..

Glanced the slightest movement

Knew I was alive

A lost opportunity

You’ll prey again another time.

I rose in shock and survival

Saved from my disgrace

Of death by choice, suicide

Alone in a barren place..

I know you’re always watching

Sitting with your volt

For me to fall again

And stumble in deaths hole.

But I will never die

I chose eternity.

Safe in Jesus Christ

Homebound, secure, and free.

I'm someone who has always had a deep passion for literature and writing. From a young age, I've been captivated by the power of words and the way they can transport us to different worlds, open our minds to new ideas, and connect us with people and experiences that are distant from our own. Whether it's immersing myself in a classic novel, jotting down my thoughts in a journal, or crafting my own creative stories, writing and literature have always been an essential part of my life. I'm excited to continue exploring this rich and rewarding field, and to share my thoughts and insights with others who share my love for all things literary.
