He believed in Jesus Christ and felt called to share the gospel message. People didn’t like that.
He believed in the rights of his fellow citizens. People don’t like that.
He believed in true connection and care for our countrymen, and believed empathy could be selfish. People don’t like that.
He believed every life mattered as created- male or female. People don’t
like that.
He believed that every life was worthy and valuable and every life had potential and purpose. People didn’t like that.
He believed every person was capable of success- no matter their skin color. He was often heard asking, “What can a white person do that a black person can’t do.” the answer was always- NOTHING. People didn’t like that.
He didn’t believe in labels, racism, discrimination, hate, or marginalizing ANYONE. People didn’t like that.
He was a father, husband, and son. He was faithful and true. People didn’t like that.
He processed information and could recall data like a computer. He was a machine and relied on evidence and facts to back himself up. He did not believe feelings were equal to facts. He never sugar coated the truth. People hated that.
He did not agree with living outside of God’s plan, allowing children to mutilate their bodies, or delusional acceptance of being something you’re not. People didn’t like that.
He didn’t hate anyone, but hated evil. He viewed the world differently than others did, he unapologetically believed what he believed. People didn’t like that.
They don’t like our differences.
They don’t accept our faith.
They despise our tolerance of all while we stay faithful in our beliefs and they respond with no tolerance of those who don’t agree with them.
Charlie never showed physical aggression, shot someone, beat someone who disagreed, vandalized a car or building of someone with opposing opinions, burned down a church, or spit on someone. He never cheered the death of someone after a coward shot them and ran.
And because they didn’t like all this, they assassinated him.
That’s why.
