Poetry- Night’s Safety Zone

When reality ushers in darkness,
And the cold has shut me in.
When the tears flow
Through leaky faucets..
When strength can’t be found
To begin.

I close my eyes and hide,
From all the devil’s schemes.
And float away to paradise,
Booked on a flight of dreams.

You won’t find me crying there,
And light is all you’ll see.
The sweetest love welcomes you,
With open arms, this reality.

The waves crash against the stone,
Of a heart that barely beats.
It’s the treasure stolen, but
Never hidden.
As eyes close, knowingly,
to enter dreams.
