Five Minute Friday- Praise

When clouds of darkness

Close in.

And shadows overcome.

I praise my Lord and Savior,

The King and risen Son.

When death called out,

knocked on my child’s door,

I praised my God above,

“Take him if you must”,

As my praise was lifted more.

I praise the Lord Jesus,

In my sorrow.

I praise Him in my pain.

I praise you Lord Jesus

In my tomorrow as today.

When joy delivered beauty,

in babies born too soon.

I praised Him in the quiet

of a beeping NICU room.

I praise His Holy Name,

In the fear and the pain,

In the mystery of the blessing

His Name I’ll lift again.

When addiction grips

Loved ones, with force

I cannot contend.

I lift a praise to my Savior,

my Redeemer, my friend.

I have praised you in the good, Lord.

I praise You in the bad.

I praise Him in the quiet

The emotional turmoil I’ve had.

And when this time has ended,

and my ticket arrives for home.

I will praise you in that journey, Lord.

As my breath becomes no more.

I’ll praise you with the angels,

I’ll praise you with my last breath.

I’ll praise you in the new beginning,

The one that follows death.

Forever, I will praise You.

I'm someone who has always had a deep passion for literature and writing. From a young age, I've been captivated by the power of words and the way they can transport us to different worlds, open our minds to new ideas, and connect us with people and experiences that are distant from our own. Whether it's immersing myself in a classic novel, jotting down my thoughts in a journal, or crafting my own creative stories, writing and literature have always been an essential part of my life. I'm excited to continue exploring this rich and rewarding field, and to share my thoughts and insights with others who share my love for all things literary.
