Poetry-I’m Still Standing

Credit unknown

I’m still standing

You’ve not knocked me out

Your best shot failed

I’m standing right now.

You’ve no power here

This is my mind

And His love reigns

Centered in my life..

So go.

Leave

Others might allow you to succeed.

I won’t.

Your lies and hate

May penetrate

The soul of blinded men.

Not here. Not here.

You’ll fail again and again.

Even when I stumble

I tiptoe through mercy and grace.

Cleansed, I breathe

With God’s breath on my face.

I’m still standing

Though once I took a fall

There you were to kick me down

And remind me of it all

You punched and kicked,

Pulled and spit.

Your hate tried to break my soul.

But I’m still standing in this place

You are powerless, so go.

How does it feel?

My soul is Jesus safe

There’ll be no devil’s deal.

Your sly ways are known

And your song is out of tune

I’m still standing,

and there’s nothing you can do.

You saw bones

God saw life..

You are darkness

God my light.

I’m still standing.

A bruised fighter at the bell.

There you are on the mat.

Knockout..

to hell where fallen go.

I stand

And walk

..And breathe..

So be gone Satan

You’ve got no hold on me.
