A secret kept
As mother wept
And shadows
Lie within.
Looming pain
The secret stain
Of disappointment
And shame.
Still she moves
With strength to prove
What Almighty God can do.
No doubt inside
Though she’ll hide
From those right by her side.
Her secret safe
Tears erased
Before they reach
Her cheek.
A quiet place
Is all she needs
Love her heart will seek.
Secret locked away
Saved for another day
Where reconciliation
will be.
The secret kept
And mother wept
And forgiveness
Lies within.
Looming pain
Wiped away
The lost to be
His Kingdom’s gain.
