She was screaming, "Let me out of here!" With caution, I approached her door and began to turn the handle. It wasn't locked, I'm not even sure it has a lock. There was my daughter, on her knees, fighting the lockless handle, to escape her room.
“My son overdosed, March 22.” “They found my daughter’s body on February 28. I am so numb.” “I can’t breathe, my baby is gone. #Forever33”
This vehicle was the only home they had because drugs own all decisions right now- along with the consequences.
.This story chronicles prejudice and shunning of a woman by society, but within these verses the character of Jesus is revealed. The important message shows Jesus as loving and accepting of people like us.
We know it’s a hard task to stand beside us, we know it isn’t easy to continue to listen to the same stories, but we appreciate you!
I was never the savior, medic, therapist, or pastor my kids needed. I was not called to that role. Fulfilling their everything was not my purpose. I had to let go. That’s when I found freedom from addiction and became reacquainted with my freedom in Christ Jesus. Funny, his freedom doesn’t feel like imprisonment.
You came to this decision because your mental wellness matters. More than likely you are at the end of yourself, now you have to surrender.
It can take years for a mother to recognize codependency in herself. So much of what it entails looks like just being a mom.
I can’t adequately explain this battle. Watching a loved one attach the shackles and lock the key to their prison cell. Frantic to escape, yet comfortable in their addiction zone.
