Authentic Stories Sharing His Authentic Love
So tonight, as I shed some of those tears I thought had dried up, I can rejoice in knowing that Jesus understands that fatigue, he understands my pain, and he understands the tears of joy, he understands my emotions- and yes, he fully understands the flood as the dam was released, and those wet drops began to fall.
When I started this blog series, I was completely convinced that my daily routine would change to something unrecognizable because my mother duties would drastically evolve into the unfamiliar. Today, I am keenly aware that nothing has really changed at all.
A deeper look at scripture..
“He took up our infirmities
and bore our diseases.”
The author of Matthew quotes many Old Testament books in a bid to show the Jewish people that Jesus was truly the Messiah they were awaiting.
One such verse is quoted in Matthew Chapter 8. At this time of his ministry, Jesus was healing many people, including those sick with physical and mental illnesses. The author writes,
“This was to fulfill what was spoken through the prophet Isaiah:
“He took up our infirmities
and bore our diseases.” (Matthew 8:17, NIV)
He is describing the healing works of Jesus to be in line with what was prophesized about Jesus by the Old Testament prophet, Isaiah. This original quote is from Isaiah chapter 53.

A profound feeling of uncertainty lurks under your breath. You close your eyes and with a deep sigh, take your first step. You do not get far when you look up and see an intimidating site. Your legs stop.
People are so worried about their rights, they forget their responsibility to be kind, giving, compassionate, decent, forgiving, honest, loyal, and loving to those around them!
We know our brain is sending all the wrong signals. We seek help from one place or the other. We pull away because it seems no one understands or cares to understand. Then we reach out again, and if we are lucky, one person may understand.
We just tore down the church Christmas decorations. My lobby is back to its nice, tidy simplified self, and I am a happy camper. I love to see the beautiful décor during the season, but I begin to feel cluttered and claustrophobic before it all comes down. I guess I will have to admit life …

The alarm buzzing in the background awakens me from my sleepy state. My mind is awake but my body hesitates to respond. I have found refuge in the layers of warmth and protection surrounding me.

While I was busy managing life all around me, the life inside of me was just laying on some couch, eating Doritos, staring aimlessly at the show I was living on the outside.

This week as we started our study in Jeremiah, we see that God has a specific call on each of our lives. He has given each of us a job to do to build the church up. There is no excuse that we can come up with He has already taken care of. He will provide us with what we need. Daily we need to check our lives for hidden sin and idols. When we find them we need to root it out and destroy its place in our hearts where it has been placed before God. We don’t have to live in fear of others because God is with us and will deliver us from them. It may seem that we have been destroyed but through His Word, fellowship with other Christians and listening to worship music we are rebuilt. Our testimony will plant seeds in others. No matter…
