Do you enjoy your job?
I enjoy my job!
I left an incredible wildlife rescue to be where I’m at today. I loved that job, too, and I have enjoyed every position I’ve had (not that there are many). My work life is good, from cleaning a school at 14 years old to the day-to-day tasks at the church I manage 35 years later.
I learned to appreciate I had a job, then work as though everything I did was the most critical job. Had I ever worked at McDonald’s, my ethic would have been the same. We may need this mindset today more than ever.
Rather than ask whether you enjoy or like your job, we should ask if you appreciate your job. In some search for more, we overlook gratitude in what we have. We often feel incomplete, inadequate, and out of place. Self-sabotage is wreaking havoc on our happiness. People want some immeasurable freedom from being tied down to a job. The world has enough influencers and not enough workers.
I see a rant ahead, but I will not tackle that today. I will cut this short and end with a, “Yes, I enjoy my job.” (I’m sure there are 2000-word responses one can find here somewhere)
Have a fabulous day all. Do you enjoy your day?
