Poetry- Beauty Stays

Beauty fades

But beauty stays

Beyond the aging face.

Where time is read

By lines of dread

And a body that

Painfully aches.

Beauty stays in memories

And laughter since gone by.

Where yesterday seems

close enough to touch

Behind closed eyes.

What is beauty

To a broken world

Consumed by selfish

Desire.

Beauty lost behind

The dark of

all consuming fire.

The spark that lights

The flame ignites.

Beauty missed by

day and night.

Is it worth the loss?

To see it all

Cloudy and still framed

In memory vaults.

Look up where you are

It’s never far

From your heart or face.

Behold the truth

Timeless truth..

Real beauty..

It Stays.
