Five Minute Friday- Done!

  1. Attitude

  2. Belief

  3. Choice

-Alison Botha, attempted murder/rape survivor

I am DONE.

Done with living in the dark others enjoy.

It is no place for me to be.

I am light of the Light,

Not bound but free.

I am done with the fears, the doubts, the lies.

Done with tears that never fall

Even when hearts cry.

I am done with the blind,

Who choose to never see.

Those who walk away..

and never see me.

I am done.

Positive is who I am, and will remain.

Belief in my Father above, sustained.

Making the choice to live for Him, my gain.

I am done in the sorrow.

Done in the anger and hurt.

Done is the best gift I give to myself.

Done is what I deserve.

Expectations cease, this world is the world.

One day I’ll leave.

Until then I choose to be,

the very best possible me.

  1. Such a beautiful and heartfelt poem. My topic today was very similar. So many people struggle with fear, but God is the only way to truly rise above. Thanks for promoting this authentic truth! Blessed to be your neighbor on FMF!

I'm someone who has always had a deep passion for literature and writing. From a young age, I've been captivated by the power of words and the way they can transport us to different worlds, open our minds to new ideas, and connect us with people and experiences that are distant from our own. Whether it's immersing myself in a classic novel, jotting down my thoughts in a journal, or crafting my own creative stories, writing and literature have always been an essential part of my life. I'm excited to continue exploring this rich and rewarding field, and to share my thoughts and insights with others who share my love for all things literary.
