From far away, things look regular and routine. However, up close, you see the jagged edges and broken pieces of a shattered soul. When I step into myself, I face a stranger.
My mind is like the final seconds of a washing machine spin cycle. It's tumbling, and taking forever to come to a complete stop. I'm staring, waiting patiently for the lid to unlock and the buzzer to sound.

While this disorder is frustrating enough in itself, add in the bipolar. Fall/Winter can include depression and Spring/Summer a milder mania- just our luck! It is imperative to my overall health to be aware of my mood swings, and to recognize the changes that occur.
If only our life came with the technology to warn us when the storm was coming!
