Believing, raw, and real- I don’t hide behind the truth behind a fluffy vision of what Christians are. We are sinners, hurting, searching, and human. As a Christian, I have that special connection to her through life with immeasurable peace and hope.
Surrendering everything is not exactly the picture we see when using the pants on remark. Typically, we imagine becoming a tough "chick,” shoulders back, maybe our nose even a bit pointed up. We roll back those sleeves, and maybe some even 'spit'! It is like a green light that suddenly flashes and we throw down the gas and go!
When in a challenging marriage crisis, a worrisome bout of teenage collision, or our own internal struggle of whatever it may be we pray but we never listen. We cry out, we weep, but we forget to be silent and to hear His love pour into us.
The barrier I struggled to face was not about the abuse, the abuser, or anything really related to those many years of torture. The barrier was one I erected, one I had to be willing to confront and to tear down- one block at a time- it was- “Jesus, why did you leave me?”
If only our life came with the technology to warn us when the storm was coming!
Over the last few years, I have retreated into my internal safe zone. I become quiet; my thoughts seem to run rampant between the past and the future. Fear creeps in, so I stay in the Word.
Through not fearing the ‘try’, I have been able to experience the closeness and intimate relationship through prayer that God wants to share with us.

If we are not living a life in submission to our Lord, then we are living a life that brings us nothing more than a reflection of self-indulgent, disobedience. Our outward walk will only reflect our inward, self-seeking desires, and at some point you will collide with the Lord’s desire for your life.
This, my friends, is where society has gone. We have raised generations with no significant care for humanity. People are more likely to care diligently for their I-phone before they will care for another human being.
You ask 'them' daily to die for you, when He chose one day in time, to die for all! That is power, that is love, and it is one thing you will never have in the dark abyss of your hate and shame.
