This is a double life. Battling sorrow and grief of someone who still lives, and beaming with positive energy as I move forward. I don’t pretend, I’m not wearing a temporary mask with a drawn on smile. I choose joy.
Every mom will battle for their child. However, the toughest battle will be on her knees in desperate prayer. Letting go and letting God is probably the hardest thing she will do.
Married life has altered me in ways I never imagined. Parenting has pushed me far away from dreams and desires. Most grandparents raising grandkids lose hope of following their unique path to destiny. We thought our time would come when the kids moved out, but in our case, that small piece never happens. The road goes on and on.
Because our longing speaks so loud, the desire to hold on in situations when God says to let go is strong. But we were never meant to grasp at hope in people or situations. The very ties gripping us are the ones Jesus wants us to break.
My life experience taught me that others’ words could quickly lift or tear us down. Some people made me feel not good enough, small and unseen, and invisible. I could have suffered a lifetime from the damage. I didn’t allow myself to park in their toxic deflection. I owned my truth as a child of …

God's love will lead us to step aside. His parenting must come first.
Maybe the problem is you.
What is to come of a community of people who follow the trending word of the day? Or the headline of the week? How will our youth ever grow up to be free thinkers when all we do is tell them what to think by force, intimidation and a cancel culture hell bent on making society follow suit.
A peaceful spirit changes things. It limits your reactions and creates a space for wisdom to lead. Peace settles within, and as we embrace this gift, joy enters and plants itself in our inner being. It is the assurance that all is well between us and God.
