Five Minute Friday-Overcome

When the Spirit Falls…

I feel the rise of the uneasy,

an internal fires flames seeking air.

The tingling of His presence,

up my spine and through my hair,

..down my arms and to my toes.

The heat has overcome-through my heart and to my soul.

I see the light encircling,

illumination all around.

Blindness by it’s beauty,

Deafness by it’s silent sound.

The light has overcome

The darkness launched to the unknown.

Captivity now captive,

No longer a place I know.

Freedom comes in full acceptance.

Love surely did come down.

I feel His Holy being,

in this place and all around.

The Spirit comes upon me,

My body shivers in certainty.

Love fell to overcome,

the deepest fears it found in me.

Ephesians 4:8 (NRSV)

Therefore it is said, “When he ascended on high he made captivity itself a captive;
he gave gifts to his people.”

  1. Absolutely beautiful! Those last lines gave me a chill — in the very best way. An amazing tribute to what God’s grace can really do in our lives.

I'm someone who has always had a deep passion for literature and writing. From a young age, I've been captivated by the power of words and the way they can transport us to different worlds, open our minds to new ideas, and connect us with people and experiences that are distant from our own. Whether it's immersing myself in a classic novel, jotting down my thoughts in a journal, or crafting my own creative stories, writing and literature have always been an essential part of my life. I'm excited to continue exploring this rich and rewarding field, and to share my thoughts and insights with others who share my love for all things literary.
