List three jobs you’d consider pursuing if money didn’t matter.
While I’ve had my opportunities, I’ve not been able to pursue my ‘speaking’ dreams with the passion and intensity it requires. Why? Read my stuff. Addiction has stolen my time and energy. Is it true that chronic substance use affects the whole family? Yes, it is.
My second pursuit would be to author my first book.
My final opportunity would be a pilot. Outrageously crazy, isn’t it? Speaker, writer, and then pilot. It makes no sense.
But as I reflect on dreams from childhood, I remember all these ideas spinning even back then. However, I hadn’t thought about it until this prompt. I joined ROTC as a first step toward a military career. I wanted to fly. My firstborn crashed my plan. He flew into my heart and really taught me how to fly.
I never threw in the towel on the other dreams. I keep at it without landing at accomplished.
That’s okay. The journey toward getting there is amazing. I’ve met incredible people, been featured in wonderful publications, and supported others along the way. That is success!
Never give up, even when money matters.
